The English Writing & Communication Center(EWCC) is an inclusive English writing and academic communication platform open to all undergraduates and graduate students.

Deeply rooted in Tongji University’s cultural ethos and aligning with global cutting-edge practices, EWCC support students across all disciplines in international exchanges, academic seminars and international publications.

EWCC provides the following services:

1. One-on-one English Writing Tutoring (online & offline)

1) Study-abroad writing support

Experienced English instructors assist students with writing and revision for IELTS, TOEFL, GRE and other overseas examinations, as well as applicationletters, résumés, personal statements, certificates, English notices, announcements and official correspondence.

2)Domestic English exam writing coaching

English instructors help students revise and improve writing for CET‑4, CET‑6, postgraduate entrance English examinations and other domestic tests.

3)English learning strategy consultation

Highly experienced instructors offer professional guidance to students facing challenges in English learning.

2. One-on-one Oral English Practice

We recruit current Tongji international students (native English speakers or those with strong English proficiency) to provide personalized oral English practice and tutoring.

3. Lectures, Workshops & Cultural Events

1)Academic English writing workshop series led by English instructors;

2)“Senior Scholars, Mini Lectures” series delivered by distinguished scientists, experts and scholars across disciplines at Tongji University;

3)“Scientific Growth” workshop series conducted by outstanding young researchers from all disciplines;

4)English corners and other cultural activities hosted by American instructors at Tongji.
